Coin Silver cca 1458 Hungarian King Mathias I. Rare Historical Medieval Museum Piece

This is a rare, hard to find, even harder to obtain, medieval coin from the Hungarian kingdom of the middle ages. It was issued under the reign of King Matyas (Mathew) the first, Mathias in Latin, who was king of Hungary from 1458 to 1490. The coin with the king's coat of arm with the raven is in good, used condition. It is not marked with the year it was minted, only the king's name, so the date 1458 is approximate.

On side of the coin shows the letters K and P surrounding the Virgin Mary patron of Hungary. That mark signify that it was minted in the thousand year old Hungarian mining and royal mint town from Hungarian silver. Since the infamous Trianon "piece treaty" Kormoc Banya is no longer part of Hungary. As shown on the photo the coin is hand struck, like most of the coins from that time. This beautiful coin is a well made and it is used but in excellent shape for it's age. It had a substantial purchase power at it's time and as these coins were too valuable for the average citizens, they did not circulated all that much. First come first serve only one available.
