This Franklin Spellmaster Computer uses Linguistic Technology by Proximity/Merriam-Webster. It has 80,000 words from the Merriam-Webster dictionary, allowing the user to search for word spellings and to play many games. Available games are Hangman, Jumbleword, Lotto, Scrabble word builder, Franklin's Deduction, and electronic dice. The Spellmaster is powered by a CMOS Z80 processor, it has 128K ROM plus a 2K RAM, uses a single line LCD display, an alphabetic keyboard and it is slim enough for the shirt pocket.

It comes in its original packaging in new unused, working condition with a soft case and a user manual. The Spellmaster is powered for a long time by two AAA 1.5 Volt batteries and it has Franklin reliability.
