EKA 218 Three Tube Audion Radio Receiver 1938 Vintage Restoration Data Picture
In spite its imposing look, this is a EKA 218 was a low price, simple basic receiver, a three tube, three band radio set from 1938. It was a reflex feedback audion straight receiver without IF frequency amplification. The first tube is used as RF [Radio Frequency] and AF [Audio Frequency] amplifier. Designed to be used with a good long antenna on MW [Medium Wave] SW [Short Wave] and LW [Long Wave] it was a very dependale set. The radio is housed in a a large stylish enclosure and an illuminated wide colored glass scale with the European city names marked for each strong station.
