Sony CCD-V701 Hi8 Camcorder F/1.8 10x with RC Time Code Electronic Video Camera

This was the first Sony consumer camcorder with the RC time code. Although the Sony CCD-V701 Hi8 camcorder is becoming rare, it still has it's amazing capabilities. It is an analog 400 lines resolution color camera with super fine optical features, variable speed power zoom with macro. It tags each frame with the hour, minute second and the frame number and it is easy and fun to operate. It uses standard 8mm (millimeter) regular or a Hi8 tape cartridges. Because its low lite capabilities it makes an inexpensive surveillance camera. Whether for nostalgia or as a parts source, this classy video camera is an affordable nice item to have. Don't delay long, only one available.

This unit needs some tweeking. When used as a recorder, the recording plays back in a wavy unstable rolling fashion - indicating synch error. It may needs a head cleaning, or an internal minor (trimpot) adjustment.

The sensitive 4 lux camera with it's the incredible optics and zoom is superb and works good. The camcorder has a video output jack, it can be used with another recorder as a remote controlled home security device, or using another VCR or TV set. It is a great opportunity for anyone handy to fix this problem and save a lot!
