This is a precisely made, PM Permanent Magnet, high torque DC motor with an attached gear. Motor is made by Johnson. The two millimeter diameter shaft has a 10 toothed attached gear. Motor begins to rotate at 1.5 Volt while it's no-load current is around 0.8 Amperes. This motor can drives many loads smoothly and with a small PM or stepping motor and a rubber band as a belt it would make a classy but simple precision, low distortion sine-wave generator, a simple generator with a small windmill or some other great science project.
