This is a precisely made, muli-phase, Permanent Magnet (PM), VCR capstan driver DC motor with a pulley and sleeve bearings. The motor is mounted on a metal faceplate. Motor driver IC is the Matsushita M51782ASP multiphase driver chip. It runs super quiet, and with very low power. It is a fine replacement part or it makes a nice science or show-and-tell project.
